Do you need to rent a car in Baltimore, D.C., and Philadelphia?
Me and my friend planning a trip to look around the three cities - Baltimore, D. C. , and Philadelphia in about a week within few weeks. Since I've never been to the cities before, I'd like to if it's a better idea to rent a car in these cities. Like to know if renting a car is a better/cheaper option in EACH city. Thanks in advance for your input.

You won't need a car in Philadelphia. Plus parking can be expensive and it can be difficult to drive if you don't know where you're going. If you're planning on staying in the central part of Baltimore (Inner Harbor, Little Italy, Fells Point), you won't need a car. If you're planning on venturing out of that area, you're going to need one.

Should I rent a car while vacationing in Baltimore?
But is it worth renting a car if you are only planning on staying in the Baltimore area.
    Headshot says:
Baltimore is not a public transportation town, the system isn't good and things are spread out. However if you are planning to stay downtown and you want to visit the usual tourist attractions and areas you don't really need a car. Baltimore has experienced a rebirth in the past few years, and parking (which was never great) and downtown traffic have become more difficult, plus there are areas you don't want to get lost in.

Do I need to rent a car when I am in Baltimore?
I am visiting Baltimore for a few days in December. I read that Baltimore has an Amtrak and Train stations, as well as Greyhound buses. When I visited Washington, D. C. in 2000, I took a subway there. When I was in Chicago, I didn't need to rent a car, because they had the subway routes. Do I need to rent a car if I am just a tourist in Baltimore.

I have checked all the major car rental companies and it seems like I can rent cars paying a fee since I am under 25, but they put restrictions on the cars including the Chevy Tahoe (meaning I can't rent it). I need a big car for the day.

Once we rented a cargo van over the weekend with unlimited mileage and it was very reasonable for non-recurring needs. In fact when we when to return it, there was a small business owner renting a truck and it was obvious he did business with them before.
