   Is there a car rental servuce close to the Amtrak station in Fort Worth Texas?

   I'm taking a trip to Fort Worth TX by Amtrak. I really don't have to money for a taxi service and wanted to rent a car for the week I will be down there. However, I can't locate a rental car dealer near the station.

   I AM trying to save on money though. Has anybody used the towns various transit systems and are they easy to use. Do they go to most of the beaches. I'm staying in a hotel near Clearwater Beach, but am going to make my way to other beaches all the way down to Fort De Soto.

   You pretty much have to have a car in the entire Tampa Bay area. In general, Tampa and area is very pedestrian hostile.

   com and bid on one for that length of time. You should be able to get it for less than half of what Avis or Hertz is quoting. Something on the order of $25 - $30/day unlimited miles. It might still turn out to be Avis though.

   Your best bet is to take a cab to the motel. You COULD take a bus to a train station, get on the train to downtown Ft Worth and then take a bus to Seminary and I-35W. try www. Once you are at your motel, and you want to get around town from there, the bus should get you where you want to go. . I'm not sure what a cab costs from the airport, but I'm sure its pretty high because it is about 30 miles away. Hope this helps.

   What to do during a long layover at Dallas Fort Worth with luggage?

   I have an 8 hour layover in Dallas Fort Worth Airport next month. Because I will be flying in from an international location, and flying to another international location, I predict I'll have about 5 hours free. I've looked into renting a car, but for some reason on the day I'll be there, even the rates to rent an economy car, are at the very least $70 and on average $120. I've checked multiple sites already. This is regardless of whether I have it for one day or overnight.
