I am 18 and having troule finding a car company that will rent out to someone under 21. I need it because i am taking a flight to tulsa and need a rental car to continue my travels to my destination.
    Joe K says:
You could probably get a small U-Haul truck. They rent to anyone who is 18 and it only costs $20 a day.

Should we rent a car for this trip?
We have a car with 87,000 miles on it which is in great condition. however, we're thinking about renting a car from Enterprise at Tulsa airport and using that to drive up there. Would it be more advantageous in this case for us to rent a car rather than drive our own.
    says:
If you car has 87,000 miles, runs good, has no fluid leaks, and has good tires - I would say your car is good to go. I think even the lowest quality cars today are design to run without issues for the first 100,000+ miles. If you do allot of highway driving with this car, then 87k miles seems worse than it really is since hwy miles are the easiest on a car. however, if it make you feel better, I drove a Pontiac G6 with 92k miles from Michigan to Texas this.

How old do you have to be to rent a car in the state of Oklahoma or California?
I'm 21 years old and will be traveling to California, but I'm from Tulsa, OK. But anywho, I was wanting to know what the age is to rent a car and see if it either matters what state you're from, the state you're in, or both.
    says:
The majors want you to be 25. Some of the independents like at LAX Parking will rent you an older higher mileage car from age 21.

Anyone else been getting letters from Thrifty Rent a Car for violations not committed?
Enterprise/National has the same deal and they are all in Tulsa, OK. They claimed a scratch in the car. The report was dated 3 days after I turned it in. I guess the car wash boy didn't want to tell the boss what he did. Are they scamming us business people.
    margie k says:
I would call a local rental place and ask for the manager, explain the problems encountered, and hopefully speaking to a human being, you can get the problem resolved. I don't know how they can claim a scratch in the car three days later, when they are supposed to inspect the car when it is turned in. sounds like a scam all the way around.

Does any company rent cars out of state one way to 18yr olds and allow payment in cash?
I am looking for a way to move from Dallas to Tulsa and anything with a trunk will do but I don't have much money and I am almost 19 what is my best course of action.
    Entidtil says:
They won't rent to an 18 year old even if you had a credit card
